Polished concrete is a multi-step process where the substrate is mechanically ground, honed, and polished with bonded abrasives to cut the surface of a concrete floor. It is then refined with each cut to achieve a specific level of appearance.
Our Process- Before prep can begin a scratch test is performed to determine the concretes density. Numbered picks are scratched across the surface until a mark is left to determine which abrasives will be used to polish the concrete. The diamonds are then attached to a concrete polishing machine starting with a more aggressive diamond working to a finer grit diamond. Finally, once the slab is flat and profiled a hardener is moped on the surface, and hybrid resin bonded diamonds are used to increase the sheen.
