Stained Concrete is a process where a pigment be it a dye or chemical water solution is used to penetrate the surface and react chemically with the concrete to form a permanent bond. Concrete stains are typically classified into three categories: film-forming, penetrating, and acid stains. All three types of stains come in a variety of colors, tints, shades, and textures, but each uses different technology to create distinct decorative looks.
Our Process- Once a start date has been scheduled the prep process can begin. First, all materials are removed and the slab is mechanically ground using our concrete polishers. Next, a color or colors is poured into a specific sprayer for which stain is being used pumped, and applied in a high-pressure mist onto the substrate in a specific pattern depending on the aesthetic. Once the stain has dried other colors can be sprayed to highlight or change the color tone. Lastly, a high solids solvent or acrylic-based sealer is applied for durability and then waxed twice upon completion of the project.
